Ledger
Hardware-wallet ecosystem with the Ledger Wallet app (formerly Ledger Live) for keeping keys offline, verifying transactions and managing many assets. The app is available on desktop and mobile, with third-party wallet integrations depending on the network.
MetaMask
THE hot wallet for Ethereum and EVM chains (~30M users). Browser extension + mobile app. Essential for DeFi. Limited to EVM chains (no native Bitcoin).
Trezor
Open-source hardware-wallet range paired with Trezor Suite to manage, send and receive assets while keeping keys offline. The app is available on desktop, web and mobile, with compatibility varying by device, operating system and asset.
Phantom
The Solana MetaMask, now multichain (Solana + Ethereum + Polygon + Base + Bitcoin). Excellent UX, integrated swap, NFT support. Probably the best current hot wallet.
Rabby
Self-custodial, open-source EVM wallet developed by DeBank. Rabby provides a preview of transaction effects before signing and risk checks. Official clients are available for browsers, mobile, macOS and Windows.
Trust Wallet
Binance's multichain mobile wallet (still self-custody). Supports 100+ chains, integrated dApp browser, staking. Heavily used on mobile.
Rainbow
EVM wallet with gorgeous UX, mobile-first focus. NFT-friendly, integrated swap, points and social features. Very popular in the Ethereum scene.

Multichain desktop + mobile wallet (300+ assets). Great UI, integrated ChangeNOW swap. Compatible with Trezor to add cold storage on top.
DeFi
DEX, lending, staking, restaking
Aave
The reference DeFi lending protocol. Deposit to earn yield, borrow against collateral. Multichain (Ethereum, Polygon, Avalanche, Arbitrum, Optimism, Base...). Native GHO stablecoin.
Lido
ETH liquid staking #1 (stETH = ~30% of total ETH staking). Stake your ETH, receive liquid stETH usable in DeFi. ~3% APY yield. Also on Polygon, Solana before discontinuation.
Pendle
Future yield tokenization. Splits a yield-bearing asset (stETH, sUSDe...) into PT (principal token) + YT (yield token). Trade yield like an asset. Very popular for points farming.
Curve Finance
DEX specialized in stablecoin and correlated asset swaps (stETH/ETH, etc.). Minimum slippage on these pairs. veCRV model = lock for boost gauge yield. DeFi pillar.
EigenLayer
Pioneer of Ethereum restaking. Reuses already-staked ETH to secure other services (AVS). Revolutionary but complex concept + additional slashing risks.
GMX
Perps DEX on Arbitrum and Avalanche. GLP model (multi-asset liquidity pool). Trade BTC/ETH/alts up to 50x leverage in decentralized mode.
Sky (ex-MakerDAO)
Creator of DAI (rebranded to USDS via Sky). Mint stablecoins by locking collateral (ETH, RWA, etc.). DSR (DAI Savings Rate) for native yield.
Jito
SOL liquid staking #1 (JitoSOL). Captures MEV rewards in addition to classic staking yield. Solana liquid staking standard.
